Resources for Those Detransitioning

Mandatory disclaimer: I am not a doctor, registered dietician, fitness trainer, or other trained professional; I’m just someone who reads a lot. Please seek the assistance of a trained and certified gender therapist before deciding to detransitioning. If you have health or other medical contraindications that might be exacerbated by a change in diet, exercise, or HRT, you should talk to a professional before starting anything. Also, most of these links taken from Post Trans.

Baldtourage—An online community for detransitioned and other women who are bald due to chemo, alopecia, detransitioning.

Post-Trans—An online community for women who once called themselves “trans” and are choosing to reclaim their lives as women. I highly recommend reading this PDF to help out (comes in multiple languages, not just English).

Life Detransitions—Online support service dedicated to providing support and information for people detransitioning and/or desisting from transgender self-identification. (Offers services in English and German.)

DeTransInfo—Offering services in Swedish for people wishing to desist and detransition.

Detransition Foundation—A group of therapists helping those wanting to desist and detransition, along with those who experience regret transitioning.

Principals of Hormonal Discontinuation, in English and French.

SEGM—Online group of doctors, therapists, and other specialists looking to help people treat gender dysphoria through psychiatry and talk therapy first, instead of going directly to hormone therapy and surgery. (No, not as a form of conversion therapy.) Also helps with people who experience regret transitioning.

Crisis Resources

***If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, please call 911, 988, or your country’s equivalent for medical emergencies instead of one of the services below.***

LGBT Support Groups

Medical Resources

Mandatory disclaimer: I am not a doctor, registered dietician, fitness trainer, or other trained professional; I’m just someone who reads a lot. Please seek the assistance of 911, 988, or your country’s equivalent of suicide hot line and emergency services if you feel suicidal or experiencing other urgent medical emergencies.

One Medical—Provides on-site health services to the LBGT community in various cities.

CAN Community Health—A non-profit organization whose services I now attend to; while focusing on those with HIV, they extend their services to the wider LGBT community.

Planned Parenthood—While they have locations in 32 states, they are big allies and have many resources for lesbians looking to practice safer sex and plan a family.

I no loner provide links to telemedicine providers. They are all too often concierge medicine services, meaning they only take cash and won’t work with insurance—plus they’ve leaked customer information to ad agencies for profit.

Specific Resources by Region (Continuously Expanding)

***If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, please call 911 instead of heading to one of the services below.***

Please do ***NOT*** email me if you work for a ”rehab”, ”medical”, or ”community” center that is for-profit, does not work ***IN-NETWORK*** with insurance companies to cover costs, or related bullshit. I will look into adding community centers and medical establishments that serve rural or large areas, but they need to be community-based, work with insurance companies or social services, and be a positive force with the local LGB(T) and/or HIV communities for me to consider adding them.
Please do not contact me if you aim to ”heal” or ”cure” anyone who’s attracted to members of the same sex. We call that conversion therapy, and has already been conclusively, unequivocally proven to harm gays, bis, and lesbians. I will publicly mock your attempts, and even potentially dox you, for having the chutzpah to contact me about such bullshit.
